About Me

I am a full-time web developer born and living in Canada who illustrates for freelance and as a hobby. My artwork is exhibited in public at the Central Canada Comic Con each year.

I have won a number of awards and ribbons for my illustrative work over the years, including:

  • Second Place, Digital category, Interlake Juried Art Show, 2008
  • Best in Show, Icelandic Festival Art Show, 2007
  • Best in Show, Icelandic Festival Art Show, 2006
  • Second Place, Digital category, Interlake Juried Art Show, 2005
  • Third Place, Digital category, Interlake Juried Art Show, 2005

I primarily paint in Adobe Photoshop, and have been doing so for more than a decade. I also (rarely) work in natural media, including pencils, inks, acrylic, and watercolour.

Some of the elements I like incorporating into my work include:

  • Robots
  • Skyscapes
  • Dystopian themes

My inspirations include:

  • Satoshi Kon
  • Ashley Wood
  • Jamie Hewlett
  • Brad Bird
  • French animation
  • Online digital art communities like CGSociety, Epilogue, and GFXArtist

I also like sandwiches.

Thaddeus “Bitey” The Third

My computer (named Thaddeus “Bitey” The Third) assists me in painting. He runs Windows 7, and is a pretty powerful gaming rig when he’s not being used for artwork.

My old computer’s name was Toby, and he was responsible for much of my artwork pre-2010. Toby ran Windows XP SP2.

I work in Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 using a Wacom Intuos3 tablet.
